John 3:13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but the world through Him might be saved.
How many leaders, CEOs, politicians, and even some small business owners have you seen in your life that expect their employees to do things that they would not do themselves. Or how about some of the greedy people that live by classifying any of the less fortunate people less than. We've all seen it, but a good leader must be willing to roll their sleeves up and get dirty sometimes. For example, there was no other way for God to do this job without leaving his Kingdom behind to become one of us and show us the way. Jesus did not come down to spend time and hobnob with the royal people of that time. He was raised by a carpenter and spent his adult life with prostitutes and other sinners. Jesus wanted everyone to know that God loves all despite our sins.
Lessons Learned
1. A good leader or manager must be willing to put titles (boss, supervisor, etc.) aside at time to get down to the bottom of things to help be a part of the solution.
2. A good leader or manager should not classify their employees by who they are or what they have. They should all be treated equal. I am not saying that a boss should accept lousy work ethics. I mentioned that Jesus spent most of his time with prostitutes and other sinners, but if you think about it, most of the people that followed Jesus changed their living style. Therefore, you must influence your employees to do their best as well. Lowering the bar or excepting less from others is not the point of this lesson. But to show them where the bar is and how to reach it.
Any Thoughts?
